How Indianapolis Spray Foam Insulation Works

Indianapolis Spray Foam Insulation insulates and air seals homes, garages and outbuildings across Indianapolis and the towns around it, from Carmel and Fishers in the north to Greenwood and Franklin in the south, and from Avon and Plainfield in the west to Greenfield in the east. We spray open-cell and closed-cell foam, seal attics before adding insulation, close up and insulate crawl spaces, insulate rim joists and basement walls, and pull out old insulation that is wet, dirty or in the way.

Every job starts with a visit. We go into the attic, the crawl space or basement, and any garage, bonus room or barn you want done. We measure what is already there and look at its condition. We look for the leaks that matter most in a central Indiana house: the attic hatch, plumbing and flue chases, recessed lights, the top plates of interior walls, the rim joist on top of the foundation, and open crawl space vents. We also look for anything new insulation would hide, like roof leaks, damp framing, rodent damage, a bath fan venting into the attic, or old vermiculite.

After the visit we explain what we would do and why, in plain terms. Foam is one tool among several. Across a broad attic floor, closing the gaps and then adding blown cellulose or fiberglass is usually the cheaper route to the same result. Foam earns its price on rim joists, crawl space and basement walls, kneewalls, roof decks without an attic, and metal buildings. When two approaches would both work, the quote lists them side by side so you can pick.

How we work

  • Look before pricing. No quote is given until we have seen and measured the spaces.
  • Write it down. Each area on the quote shows the material, thickness or depth, target R-value and price.
  • Seal, then insulate. Air leaks are closed first so the new insulation is not just covering them up.
  • Protect the house. Floors, belongings and finished surfaces are covered, and the work area is closed off and ventilated.
  • Plan around the weather. Foam needs the right temperature range, so cold attics and unheated barns get scheduled with that in mind.
  • No surprise charges. Work starts after you approve the quote, and any change is agreed in writing first.

Who calls us

Owners of 1950s and 1960s ranches with cold floors over a crawl space. People in older city neighborhoods with drafty upstairs rooms and hot attics. Families in newer Hamilton and Hendricks County homes with a bonus room that never feels right. Anyone finishing a basement who wants the rim joist and walls done first. Owners of garages, shops and pole barns on the edge of town who want a building they can heat in January and use in July.
